Bexley

Bexley began as a combination of faculty homes for Capital University which moved to this location in 1876. It started to take permanent shape in 1906 with the building of several palatial mansions. Others followed and a pattern of elegance was established. Newer homes are smaller but still show the community's distinction. Bexley cannot expand for it is now surrounded on all sides by the city of Columbus. Driving time to downtown Columbus from Bexley is approximately ten to fifteen minutes. Bexley is suburb of older homes with excellent schools, great proximity to the city, and lots of character. Bexley is just East of Downtown Columbus and is home to many of Columbus notable family names. Bexley prices range from $150,000 to million dollar mansions. Bexley homes have experienced some of the top appreciation in the city.

Clintonville / Beechwold

Clintonville is located North down High St. from the Ohio State Campus. It is borderd by 71 on the East side, Olentangy river on the West Side, and Morse Rd. on the North side, and Arcadia St. on the South side. Beechwold and Clintonville are often confused and used interchangeably. Beechwold is the area North of Henderson Rd and Clintonville is South of Henderson Rd. The Clintonville area is popular with residents for its central location and easy commute downtown, as well as the charm and character of its 1900-1940’s neighborhoods. Homes sell from the 130’s in the Northern Beechwold area to the 800’s for some of the stately homes on E. North Broadway and Old Beechwold. Most homes fall in the 180-250 range. Clintonville has been hot with young families and professionals and is still home to some original owners as well. Clintonville is anchored by The Park of Roses which connects residents to the Olentangy River as well as the bike and walking trail system.

Dublin

Dublin is nestled on the banks of the Scioto River in the northwest area of Columbus. It is readily accessible via Route 33 and outer belt 1-270, about twenty to twenty-five minutes from downtown Columbus. Jack Nicklaus' Memorial Golf Course and the unique planned development called Muirfield Village are two special reasons for the interest in Dublin. Dublin boasts excellent schools and home values have appreciated well. Dublin has many newer homes with the exception of its historic downtown. It is home to the prestigious golf course communities of Muirfield Village and Tartan Fields. If you are a buyer seeking a newer home, Dublin’s newer built homes have seemed to resell better than other newer suburbs in Columbus. Prices for Dublin homes start in the low 200’s and go to 1 million+, condos start in the 140 range. Dublin is located in both Franklin and Delaware counties.

German Village

German Village is a premiere Downtown Columbus Neighborhood anchored by Schiller Park. German Village is 233 acres of "living" history where the old meets the new and the result is a vibrant and charming community. This historic neighborhood is the the legacy of Germans that settled in Columbus in the early 1800’s. German Village has storybook cobblestone streets lined with trees, and is rich with old brick homes, fenced with wrought iron, and dotted with specialty shops and restaurants that live harmoniously next to residents. German Village homes tend to be cozy and have high dollar per sq. foot prices. It is located just South of Downtown Columbus and is close to the Brewery District, Schumacher Place, and Merion Village. German Village offers condominiums from the $140’s to million dollar mansions of Schiller Park. German Village has been popular with the young and trendy as well as empty nesters and baby boomers looking for more culture and lifestyle.

Grandview

The City of Grandview Heights known as the 'Friendly Little City,' is the most convenient suburb to downtown Columbus, and is very close to The Ohio State University. Grandview Heights was founded in 1906 as a village and became a city in 1931. Together with the village of Marble Cliff and the city of Upper Arlington, the area constitutes the Tri-Village Community. Grandview Heights, predominantly a residential community characterized by older homes and tree-lined streets, has a unique 'downtown' featuring a movie theater, eclectic shops, and a variety of restaurants, all within walking distance to the majority of the community. Driving time to downtown Columbus and OSU is approximately five to ten minutes.

Grandview offers older homes with charm and character, a great small school district, and wonderful central proximity to the city. It has been regarded as a trendy favorite for younger professionals as well as a quiet community for families. Like Upper Arlington, Grandview homes sell at a high dollar per square foot. Grandview’s demand has earned it one of the most appreciating areas in Columbus for home values.

Hilliard

Hilliard is located in the western portion of Franklin County adjacent to I-270 and is about fifteen minutes driving time to downtown Columbus. Hilliard has a wide variety of housing including apartments, condominiums and traditional single family homes. Hilliard and its surrounding areas outside of 270 have experienced quite a bit of newer residential construction since the late 1990’s and is very popular with families looking for more home for the dollar, good schools, and newer/modern floor plans.

New Albany

New Albany is a pleasant and hospitable village just a few miles northeast of Columbus, offering life in the country, yet close to the city. This area is also famous for its horse farms and its large Georgian style homes. General price range of homes is between $150,000 to $2,000,000 with the greatest selection in the $250,000 to $900,000 range. Homes under $250,000 tend to be small older homes on large lots. New Albany is the creation of The Limited founder, Leslie Wexner.

New Albany is a carefully planned community that has paid great attention to building standards and requirements. Most of New Albany is newer built homes from the late 1990’s. New Albany is the home to many of Columbus’s top executives that reside in large homes close to the New Albany Country Club. New Albany’s great school system is called Plain Local.

Powell

Proximity along with quaint shops and upscale homes have made Powell a top choice by Money Magazine as one of the best places to live in Ohio and one of the best in the nation. Powell boasts close proximity to the Columbus Zoo, Wyandot Lake, The Mall at Polaris, the Dublin-Worthington-Westerville corridor, I-270 and more.

Powell is a historic downtown village known for its specialty shops and antiques. Powell has kept the small town historic feel for its downtown district yet most of its homes are newer. Upper Arlington

Upper Arlington is a desired address that boasts a very convenient Central Columbus location. Nestled close to Ohio State University, Northwest of downtown, and is a short commute to downtown Columbus. UA combines fine suburban living with close proximity to downtown and major freeways. It is a prestigious community known for its top school system. Upper Arlington residents have strong civic pride in their planned residential community. Located along the Scioto River to the West, Henderson Rd. to the North, Fifth Ave to the South (Border of UV/Grandview), St Rt. 315 to the East.

Arlington offers many prestigious, fine older homes built toward the turn of the century surpassing $1 million as well as homes from 1930’s-1960’s. Arlington is one of the highest dollar per sq ft. areas in the city due to its demand. Featuring The Scioto Country Club, where Jack Nicklaus learned to play golf. This is the area where the coach of the OSU Football team, Jim Tressel, calls home. Upper Arlington has experienced one of the highest appreciation rates for home values.

Victorian Village

Victorian Village is located in the Short North (North of 670 and South of King Ave/ OSU Campus) and has excellent proximity to downtown. The antique community is anchored by Goodale Park. Victorian Village is a trendy, vibrant area close to entertainment and nightlife. Victorian Village boasts homes with grand turrets, turn of the century fairytale architecture, and a trendy culture that could only be found in a downtown neighborhood. Harrison West is an up and coming adjoining area within Victorian Village.

Price tags for Victorian Village range from $180,000- 1Million+. Home buyers can still find some fixer uppers toward the lower price ranges and in the transitioning Harrison West Neighborhood. There is also some condominium developments and condo conversions that may have a more affordable price tag in the Village. Expect prices to be the highest within close proximity to Goodale Park. Victorian Village has shown very high demand and prices have appreciated significantly.

Westerville

The City of Westerville is located approximately 12 miles north-east of downtown Columbus, offering "small town" cooperation and "city size" convenience. Excellent access to all areas of central Ohio and downtown Columbus is provided by I-270 and I-71. Driving time to downtown during rush hours will be 20-25 minutes. The majority of Westerville is in Northern Franklin County and spans into Southern Delaware County.

Downtown Westerville offers a charming Old Westerville downtown with homes dating back to the 1800’s around the Otterbein College campus. Westerville has homes with good schools of all ages and sizes with price ranges that may be a little more affordable than some of the suburbs closer to downtown Columbus.

Worthington

Worthington was founded in 1803 and has grown into a well established community yet maintaining its old Connecticut atmosphere. An excellent school system is one of the reasons it is considered a prime residential community. Worthington offers a wide variety of homes, both in style and price range. The proximity to the I-270, outer belt, I-71, and 315 makes transportation to downtown Columbus easy.

Worthington is known for its small town feel and wonderful school district. Worthington’s downtown strip hosts parades, the farmers market, and has specialty shops and restaurants. Crowd favorites include Graeter’s Ice Cream, Old Bag of Nails Pub, The Worthington Inn, and La Chatelaine. Worthington has a wonderful recreation center for residents as well as many parks with access to the bike trails running along the Olentangy River. Worthington is nestled around I-270 at the North and surrounds High St./St Rt. 23 that runs through the middle (North and South). Worthington homes have experienced strong appreciation of home values, mostly due to its top school system.
